NOW HERE IS A GREAT IDEA FROM AN ENTERPRISING BOOKSTORE

Report from The Toledo Blade.

Bookstore in Findlay holds 'Hogwarts Day'

Harry Potter may be old news since the last book in the popular series came out last summer, but that isn't stopping the Stately Raven Bookstore in Findlay from celebrating the kid wizard this weekend.
It will be holding a "Harry Potter Hogwarts Day" Saturday, complete with a costume contest at 1 p.m. and a free screening of the movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, with popcorn and drinks at 6 p.m.
The centerpiece of the day will be a 2 p.m. presentation entitled, "Magical Spaces in a Muggle World," presented by Vincent Moore, Sherry Truffin, and Karen Bayne, who teach at Tiffin University.
The trio presented papers last year at a Harry Potter conference in New Orleans and are in the process of creating a course on the book series at Tiffin University next year, said Mike Cole, the bookstore's owner.

The talk will be geared toward older children and adults who love the Harry Potter books, touching on some of the literary traditions that exist within the tales and how the books straddle both real and magical worlds.

"Because Harry Potter fans are very passionate and very hard core, there will probably be some fairly lively discussion about it," Cole said. "It will be very fun and lively."The Stately Raven Bookstore, 1315 North Main St. in Findlay, will hold "Harry Potter Hogwarts Day" on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. Information: 419-427-2814 or http://www.statelyraven.com/.
