MISCELLANEOUS CHATTER:

1.Kiwi Littérature étrangère

The latest issue of the French literary magazine Décapage features a short story by New Zealand author Chad Taylor - "Din" translated by Isabelle Chapman, who also translated the French editions of his latest novel 'The Church of John Coltrane' and 'Departure Lounge.'

2.What is going on over at Hachette NZ? The Bookman as been receiving noisy complaints from booksellers about their lack of deliveries over the past week or so. Particularly with reorders of their fine titles promoted for Father's Day. Wonder if they have installed a new computer system?

3. ANTHOLOGY - Such a great name that industry veteran Doris Mousdale has come up with for her Newmarket, Auckland bookstore but when is it opening.? Early reports said August but we are now in September...............

The Hachette problem has had a major impact on many Booksellers.
Hachette have not been able to supply orders since the 25th of August which has meant that many Booksellers have not received their orders for stock needed for Father's Day,one of the two key selling periods in the year.
And to add insult to injury Hachette failed to notify the booksellers of the problem.Great customer relations!!!
