DICK FRIZELL: THE PAINTER

A big crowd of artistic and literary types turned out last evening at Auckland's Gow Langsford Gallery to celebrate the launch of Dick Frizzell's stunning new book - Dick Frizzell:The Painter.

After publisher Jenny Hellen welcomed everyone and spoke of the rewarding experience of working with Dick during the design and publishing process John Gow then spoke of the professional relationship that Gow Langsford Gallery had enjoyed with him for more than 20 years. It was a witty and entertaining address to which the author/artist briefly and graciously responded although it was clear that he would rather be in front of an easel than addressing a large crowd.
Appropriately the wines being enjoyed were Dick Frizzell Wines.

Gow Langsford Gallery has only recently moved to their new larger space at 26 Lorne Street in the City and an ipressive space it is too. The Frizzell artwork, all from the book, looked right at home.
