Global Short Story Competition prize money approaches £6,000

The team behind the monthly Global Short Story Competition has announced that, when the winners are named for its April competition, the prize money handed out will have topped £6,000.

Launched more than three years ago, the competition runs every month with a £100 first prize, sponsored by Britwriters, and a £25 prize for highly commended writers. Winners have come from all over the world and more information is available on www.globalshortstories.net The prize money awarded for the February competition, to writers from Australia and France, took the total of money handed over to £5,950, including the free competitions which the team run at its social networking site http://www.globalwriters.net/

Certys Limited, the North East of England company that runs the competition, recently published its first e-anthology, featuring work from writers from all over the world.
