Tuesday Poem is Two - Happy birthday Tuesday Poem

Tuesday Poem is two years old, and to celebrate the poets are writing another global poem. Twenty-six of the 31 Tuesday Poets living in six countries and 12 different cities will contribute a line each over 14 days to create it.

The global birthday poem kicks off at one minute past midnight on April 3, 2012 with a line from Boston poet Melissa Green - who also celebrates a birthday on April 3. Tuesday Poem co-curator Claire Beynon (a New Zealander currently visiting Ibiza, Spain) contributes the second line ten hours later, with Saradha Koirala from Wellington New Zealand posting the third at 6 pm tonight. Tomorrow, it's Wellington poet Janis Freegard and Seattle poet T Clear and on it goes until Tuesday April 17 when co-curator Mary McCallum posts the final line at one minute past midnight. You'll find a terrific line-up of NZ poetry talent contributing as well as poets from overseas: Australia, UK, US, Italy.

The posts will be twice a day, usually around 8 am and 6 pm NZ Time, with some variations either side. The poem is unfolding now. You can go to the global poem page to see who posts when and how. Blog readers are being encouraged to pop back regularly to see how the poem unfolds and to cheer the poets on. The first birthday poem is Tuesday
Happy Birthday Tuesday Poem!!!
And congratulations to Mary McCallum (left) for her drive and enthusiasm.
