Despite McQueen’s stature as an historian, this is anything but a sterile academic work. The strength of this history is that McQueen takes a side, and you can’t miss it! Notes from our shop: It seems that all bricks and mortar bookshops are dropping off like flies.  Sadly, Books on King in Newtown closed last Monday, and many other both new and secondhand bookshops have closed or in the process of doing so.  We are in the same boat – we are struggling financially BUT we are endeavouring to stay open.
