2012 NATIONAL FLASH FICTION DAY – Tomorrow, 22 June



 The Short List for the national competition has been announced this week and can be found at the NFFD website here.  Congratulations to these thirteen writers and to all who entered.

NFFD in Auckland
Awards/ Celebration, Friday 22 June at 5pm, Central City Library, Whare Wānanga, Level 2. Emceed by Siobhan Harvey, this event will feature the national and regional winners of the NFFD competition plus readings by other short fiction writers including Murray Edmonds, Vivienne Plumb, David Lyndon Brown, Leanne Radojkovich, Katharine Derrick, Penny Somervaille and others. NFFD in Wellington, Christchurch and Whangarei
In Wellington, flash-fictioneers will meet and be merry at the Library Bar at 6pm. All are welcome.
In Christchurch, Catalyst editor Ciaran Fox is organising a 24-hr flash event – today! See the Catalyst Blog for updated details and prompt words. 
Also in Christchurch, Hagley Writers’ Institute hosts National Flash Fiction Day at the libraries on Friday 22 June. Readings at Peterborough Central  11 – 11.30am and Upper Riccarton 12 – 12.30pm. 
In Northland, join the Flash Fiction Competition, organised by the Whangarei Libraries. Deadline for submissions Friday 22 June; awards 28 June.
